Data Visualization For Oracle Business Intelligence 11g – This chapter details how to use the Oracle Business Intelligence Mobile app to work with specific types of inventory items.
With Oracle Business Intelligence Mobile, you can experience most of the views offered by the desktop version of Oracle BI EE. You can perform all audit actions in the Oracle BI Mobile app: reminders, assignments, action links, and more. You can interact with the data by filtering and sorting.

When the panel has multiple pages, touch the page icon (to the right of the page title area) to access the list of available pages and touch again to go to one of them. See figure 4-2.
Learn About Big Data Certification
Some items, when added to dashboard pages in the desktop version of Oracle BI EE, will be suspended for display on a mobile device. The following items are disabled on dashboard pages in Oracle BI Mobile:
Oracle BI Mobile provides the same set of context menu actions found in Oracle BI EE, but on a mobile device, you use touch and hold gestures instead of right-clicking. For example, to sort data, touch and hold a column header to access the right-click menu in the mobile desktop app, then select Sort.
Since there is no way to use right-click on the iPad, this tutorial refers to the “right-click menu” as the “content menu”.
Abhinav’s Tech Blog: 2012
A trellis is a type of chart placed inside a pivot table. Trellis view only supports all chart resources in a project; so you can’t get resource information for each item in a grid chart.
Tools appear differently in the trellis view depending on whether the trellis is a simple trellis or an advanced trellis. With a simple trellis you can find tooltips for each bar (group and series). You can also drag tooltips using tap and drag gestures. In the advanced trellis, you can find one tool for the whole chart.
User interaction with charts in Oracle BI Mobile is different from what you are used to with the desktop version of Oracle BI EE.

In the Oracle BI EE desktop, you can initiate actions using the mouse: left-click (for example, drill-down, action link, key points) or hover (to show the tools display).
In Oracle BI Mobile, where user interaction is based on a device rather than a mouse, gestures create actions. Tapping brings up an app (similar to hover in the desktop version) and the app includes a button that can trigger an action on the left side of the desktop.
The prompts and prompts that appear on the chart symbols provide a layer for performing actions on the chart data. When there is only one action available for a marker, the button for that action will be easily visible in the toolbar. When more actions are available, you will see the Options button in the tools section.

If the analysis includes charts for split pivot table views, these charts do not support any interactions in Oracle BI Mobile.
In the Oracle BI Mobile application, console recommendations are presented in a way that is optimized for mobile scenarios and finger gestures. Although almost all the functionality of the desktop version is available, it is displayed differently.
Supported reminder types include column reminders, variable reminders, and currency reminders. Many input options are supported, including text, radio buttons, checkboxes, and more.
Business Intelligence Platform
Visual map prompts and top-level reminders are displayed in the BI property, while other supported reminders appear in the reminder bar.
Figure 4-3 shows the reminder area. The Apply button is enabled here because all required fields have values entered. While the required fields still need to be entered, the Apply button is disabled.
There are two types of recommendations that can be used in Oracle BI Mobile: simple recommendations and advanced recommendations:

The Show Selection button is a toggle to Show All. When you click Show Selection, only the list of items you selected will be displayed instead of the entire list provided by Show All. The Clear All button allows you to clear all your selections at once.
Figure 4-10 shows a two-finger slide message that uses the Middle operator (hyphen) to display the unit range from 50 to 300.
Figure 4-11 shows the Search Options dialog box where you can specify details including the search operator and whether your search is arbitrary.
Oracle Bi Tutorial
This section supplements “Working with Map Views on dashboard pages” in the Oracle Fusion Middleware User Guide for Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition. This section describes how to work with maps in BI Mobile applications, because the methods are different. If you are new to mapping views in Oracle BI EE, you should start with “Working with Mapping Views on dashboard pages” in the Oracle Fusion Middleware User Guide for Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition before learning the tasks described here .
The My Location feature allows you to find your current location on the map and place a pin on it.
You view Oracle BI Publisher content in the Oracle BI Mobile application the same way you view it in Oracle BI EE desktop: you can open it directly from the Oracle BI Presentation Catalog. Viewing BI Publisher content is compatible with the Oracle BI Mobile application. You can also use parameters in BI Publisher reports.

In the desktop, you view the content of the scorecard in the Oracle BI Mobile app in the same way as you would in the desktop app. Once the scorecard items are entered into the dashboard, you can see a full view of the scorecard content on the iPad. You can view KPI checklists, smart checklists, custom visualizations, strategy maps, strategy trees, strategy wheels, and causal maps.
For interactive use on the iPad, we recommend including a scorecard view within the dashboard rather than requiring mobile users to open files directly from a menu.
You can also open scorecard content (except smart watchlists) directly from the Oracle BI Presentation Catalog; this will display the content in a simplified table format. (See Figure 4-18.)

In Oracle BI Mobile, there is a small selection of content options. You can access the content menu in the watch list or the schematic button with a touch and hold gesture.
To zoom in or out on all the scorecard images (except the trick wheel), use a few gestures. On the trick wheel, use the pinch gesture to increase or decrease the number of rings that appear.
Figures 4-16 and 4-17 show two versions of the policy tree – the first is in the desktop version of Oracle BI EE and the second is the same policy tree seen in Oracle BI Mobile.

Figure 4-18 shows a DHTML view of the policy tree. This is how the policy tree is displayed when opened in Oracle BI Mobile from the catalog.
Regarding user interface features provided by Apple iOS, a “warning” is a pop-up that displays to provide important information before taking action and has a short title and an OK button to come out This guide covers only the alerts that are understood as part of Oracle Business Intelligence, namely: the message generated by the agent that provides personal information and that can be retrieved from the people selected and registered with the agent.
On your mobile device, you can view a list of active alerts generated by the agent such as the desktop version of Oracle BI EE. Each alert in your list provides the name of the associated item and its expiration date.
Migrating Obiee 11g From Exalytics To Oracle Analytics Server On X8 Servers
The Oracle Business Intelligence Mobile app checks for alerts on application startup and periodically checks back while you’re running or opening it.
The Alerts Bar, as shown in Figure 4-19, displays your current alerts. The latter appears on the left. The Alerts Bar also displays a bell icon that shows the current number of alerts. You can navigate through multiple alerts. You can remove the warning. You can hide the Notifications area.
Connected alerts (analytics and dashboard pages) for your active alerts can also be opened from the “Alerts bar” on your mobile device. Like the computer version of alert generation, these are non-interactive reports.
Using Oracle Adw Machine Learning Models In Oracle Analytics (part 1)
When the Alerts area is not visible, the Alerts icon appears to the left of the Home icon in the title bar.
When you remove an alert in a mobile environment, its removal is synchronized with the desktop version of Oracle BI EE. Similarly, when you delete an alert in a desktop environment, the removal of an alert is synchronized in a mobile environment.
